About Lennea

Linn and Mike

My name is Lennea Aurilia. I grew up on a diet of Carnation Instant Breakfast, a ton of soda, Big Mac’s, Hamburger Helper, huge bowls of ice cream and other unhealthy products. I was a chubby little girl that did not feel wonderful about myself. Starting off life with these unhealthy habits contributed to years of Yo-Yo dieting, unhealthy “Health” products, and EVENTUALLY my journey to find the healthy version of me.

Food became my medicine and my passion! Once I became a mother I really found my place in the kitchen. I love everything about food. Picking it, cooking it, and most of all eating it. I have experimented with many food theories over the years trying to decide what works best for me and my family.  I was diagnosed with IBS and Stage 1 Colon Cancer in May of 2014. The doctor explained my Colon Cancer is genetic so while it may not have been completely avoided I believe my dietary habits and lifestyle choices have at least helped. My mother also had colon cancer at 36. Hers was Stage 3 when detected. So now more than ever I am on a mission to help others make healthier food choices. While you may not be a vegetarian, a vegan, or eat gluten free…incorporating these sort of meals  a few times of week may help with a variety of health issues.

One last thing I will suggest- from all I have read Colon Cancer is one of the deadliest BUT also most preventable cancer. I strongly believe they need to lower the colonoscopy recommendation age to 40. I urge everyone to have one once they hit 40 and earlier if you have any feeling something may be wrong. It was suggested to me 10 years earlier to have a colonoscopy but I was afraid of the procedure so I but it off. I am still lucky and truly blessed that I was able to have an early detection of my colon cancer. My life may have been very different several years down the road had I not made the decision to finally go.
I received my training as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s cutting-edge Health Coach Training Program.

During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts.
